Two students playing a math game

Math and Reading Night was a resounding success, bringing together students, families, and staff for an evening focused on fun, hands-on learning in math, reading and STEAM. A total of 194 students and an estimated 400 family members were in attendance, along with 57 staff members.

A highlight of the evening was the class attendance competition. As families arrived, students marked their class attendance on giant graphs. This activity not only served as a fun, visual way to track participation but also provided a real-world application of data collection and graphing. The classroom achieving the highest percentage of attendance earned a reward.

Teachers across all grade levels hosted dynamic activity stations, ensuring there was something engaging for every student. Homebase Credit Union hosted an excellent economics lesson focused on saving money. Students also got creative decorating take-home piggy banks. Students and families were able to browse and shop at the book fair. To extend learning opportunities at home, every student received a take-home math game and chose a book to keep.

A great time was had by all, reinforcing the value of engaging families in core academic subjects through interactive, hands-on experiences.
