I am so excited and honored to serve as the principal of Elizabeth Scott Elementary School! Elizabeth Scott holds a very special place in my heart, and I feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to lead this amazing school community.
My journey at Elizabeth Scott began in 2007, when I had the privilege of joining the staff as a classroom teacher during the year our school opened. Since then, I have served our school community as a classroom teacher, reading teacher, and assistant principal. I have also had the opportunity to serve as an English teacher at the middle school level and as a literacy coach in the central office. Each of these experiences has shaped me as an educator and strengthened my belief in the power of strong instruction, meaningful relationships, and a school community that works together to help every child thrive.
I grew up in Chester and am a proud graduate of Chesterfield County Public Schools, having attended Enon Elementary School, Chester Middle School, and Thomas Dale High School. I went on to attend James Madison University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies with a concentration in Math and Science and a minor in Early Childhood Education. After beginning my career as a classroom teacher, I returned to school to earn two master's degrees—one in Literacy and Culture and another in Educational Leadership.
My husband and I come from a family of educators, most of whom serve or have served in Chesterfield County Public Schools, and my husband is also a teacher in CCPS. I am the proud mother of four children, all of whom are products of CCPS and, specifically, Elizabeth Scott Elementary School. I can honestly say that I appreciate and love this school not only as a parent, but also as a staff member. Having experienced Elizabeth Scott from both perspectives, I have seen firsthand the incredible impact this community has on children and families, and I am deeply grateful to be part of it.
When I am not at school, you can find my family and me exploring the beautiful areas around us and visiting campsites in our camper. We love spending time together, making memories, and enjoying the outdoors. I look forward to another amazing school year with this incredible community of learners and thinkers. I am honored and humbled to serve each of our students, staff members, families, and community members. Together, we will continue to make Elizabeth Scott a safe, joyful place where every child is known, challenged, and supported. It is truly a privilege to be a Scott Scorpion, and I cannot wait to see what we accomplish together!
