Elise Hughes is passionate, reflective and always looking for ways to improve. Her classroom lessons are intentional and exceptional, but what sets her apart from others is that she creates learning experiences that allow students to have a personal connection to the world around them. In her classroom, there are 46 life skills on an anchor chart that she seamlessly weaves into discussions, lessons and daily routines. Previous students still quote and note their usage of these skills. These skills help students develop a sense of empathy, responsibility and self-motivation when it comes to their actions in and out of the classroom.
